Even More Sweet Lolita!!

First off, here are two more tops I found that work with the Strawberry Lolita Skirt from the Marketplace.

The first one is a cardigan from AtiK; they have several FREE (0L) gifts for their FREE group (the only clothes allowed on this blog are free clothes from free groups! Or you know just free in general. I even venture out to Freebie Galaxy type places to get stuff for my outfits.)

The Second one is from B.D.R. (Beautiful Dirty Rich). They have 3 cute outfits for their group gift right now.
Enjoy!

Also today here is my favorite outfit from Feather that I didn't post in my last entry.
I'm also wearing cute shoes on a luckyboard from Akiba Sorority.

TIP: If your shoes are missing an alpha, just hit the Marketplace for a free pair of mesh sandals and they will usually have one that is good for your shoes.

Sweet Lolita!

Sweet lolita is scarce in Second Life. Goth lolita seems to be the more popular of the two styles. If you find a piece of sweet lolita clothing, it's usually packed individually so you have to find other parts of your outfit elsewhere. I'm not sure why this is, because it's a huge fad. Maybe that's the reason! In any case, I will try to post sweet lolita outfits when I find them. I usually have to mix and match my clothes, so I will also give you style tips I've discovered to make the outfifts work.

First we have a fabulous free skirt from * :Lis: * on the marketplace. It's patterned with strawberries and looks very realistic. However, it's fitted mesh, so you can't edit it or anything, so there aren't too many options you have to mix and match unless you get really creative. It's still a great skirt to add to your wardrobe if you are just starting out in Second Life and want to be a lolita.

***Creative ways to wear this skirt***

What colors would go well with this skirt? Although pink usually clashes with red, I did some research on what Real Life lolitas wear, and it's an acceptable color to pair with a red patterned skirt! Just look at this combination from Angelic Pretty:

Here's my take on it; I paired a mesh dress with a slim skirt from the In-World store Feather with Lis' skirt, making the skirt on the dress a petticoat (an essential part of any lolita's wardrobe).

Slim-fitting mesh tops are also good for this type of skirt.

Original dress from Feather:

It's a luckyboard item, and the group join is free! (all of the groups featured on this blog are :))

Secondly, when in doubt, wear white. Here is a great shirt from COCO in the free section in the back--she has a few old sculptie items still left. Among them is a great bow shirt that goes well with several different styles.

In these pics I'm also wearing a skin and shape combo that works really well with lolita outfits and ballerina clothing because of the thin waist, called Mari by TSYI! (The Skin You're In!) on the Marketplace, as well as hair from a fatpack called Cuty Hairs by ALT, also on the Marketplace. ALT has several free avatars, including a schoolgirl one, as well.

That's all for now, folks! If you have questions, suggestions or comments please comment!

Happy shopping!

Moors Fairy

I thought the new movie Maleficent was highly entertaining (albeit a little predictable, because, you know, Disney plots) and Angelina Jolie kicked major butt. Here is a little Maleficent cosplay I concocted out of several freebie costumes found everywhere from the marketplace to ancient flickr posts. You really have to work hard to find a good costume in Second Life if you can't afford one of those million Linden dollar ones, but in the end, well, it's really worth it!!

Free T-Shirt Template (Ultra Basic) For New Designers!!

Have you ever wondered how professional designers match the sleeves of their t-shirts so nice and even, and screamed with frustration because you were so tired of trying to match your sleeves and gave up on your dreams of making a custom t-shirt because you just couldn't figure it out? I spent last night figuring out how to do that exact same thing and finally got it right. I'm so proud of my creation that I'm giving this template to you--for free. I want all new designers to have fun in Second Life and not be frustrated by sleeves and seams matching, because that's what a game is for right? Having fun! This template is designed to be ultra basic and can be copy pasted into any avatar template for shirts because it's 512x512 (simply select black part by going into select-->by color).

edges ultra basic so you can play with them however much you want.

Tip: to make the white part transparent, simply select it and clear and save the file as .tga.

Happy Easter!
