Sweet Lolita!

Sweet lolita is scarce in Second Life. Goth lolita seems to be the more popular of the two styles. If you find a piece of sweet lolita clothing, it's usually packed individually so you have to find other parts of your outfit elsewhere. I'm not sure why this is, because it's a huge fad. Maybe that's the reason! In any case, I will try to post sweet lolita outfits when I find them. I usually have to mix and match my clothes, so I will also give you style tips I've discovered to make the outfifts work.

First we have a fabulous free skirt from * :Lis: * on the marketplace. It's patterned with strawberries and looks very realistic. However, it's fitted mesh, so you can't edit it or anything, so there aren't too many options you have to mix and match unless you get really creative. It's still a great skirt to add to your wardrobe if you are just starting out in Second Life and want to be a lolita.

***Creative ways to wear this skirt***

What colors would go well with this skirt? Although pink usually clashes with red, I did some research on what Real Life lolitas wear, and it's an acceptable color to pair with a red patterned skirt! Just look at this combination from Angelic Pretty:

Here's my take on it; I paired a mesh dress with a slim skirt from the In-World store Feather with Lis' skirt, making the skirt on the dress a petticoat (an essential part of any lolita's wardrobe).

Slim-fitting mesh tops are also good for this type of skirt.

Original dress from Feather:

It's a luckyboard item, and the group join is free! (all of the groups featured on this blog are :))

Secondly, when in doubt, wear white. Here is a great shirt from COCO in the free section in the back--she has a few old sculptie items still left. Among them is a great bow shirt that goes well with several different styles.

In these pics I'm also wearing a skin and shape combo that works really well with lolita outfits and ballerina clothing because of the thin waist, called Mari by TSYI! (The Skin You're In!) on the Marketplace, as well as hair from a fatpack called Cuty Hairs by ALT, also on the Marketplace. ALT has several free avatars, including a schoolgirl one, as well.

That's all for now, folks! If you have questions, suggestions or comments please comment!

Happy shopping!
